queen for breakfast, you will be energetic during the day.
In Taiwan, we prefer to have a big and great dinner. Din-
ner time usually is the best time for family to be together
after a long day.
The second cultural difference is the way we dress our-
selves. In Taiwan, most people wouldn't wear too formal-
ly because the weather here is hot and humid. It's easier and more comfortable for us to wear casual T-
shirts, shorts and flip-flops. In contrast, the weather is much cooler than it is in Taiwan, so British usually
wear formal dress. The UK is really an elegant country of manners!
I like the British way because I think tasty breakfast will give me energy and happiness. Moreover, I like to
dress more properly, so that people will have better impression of me. What about you? Which culture
do you like more? Maybe next time you can come to the UK, and explore more differences by yourselves!
The Most Wonderful Trip in Cambridge University
6-4 馮瑞庭╱ Rita
It's another sunny day in London! Summer is such a lovely season in the UK. Today we went to one of
the most famous colleges in the world—the Cambridge University. I was very excited because I can finally
see its true features!
After we got off the coach, our local teacher, Teacher Esther, immediately brought us to the starting point
of punting. During the high season, there are so many local students work here and share the beauty of
Cambridge to visitors from all over the world. I cannot wait to begin our punting tour! Green willow trees
and many different kinds of plants are along the River Cam. It's just like a wonderful picture.
On the River Cam, there are lots of bridges with different patterns. The punting staff told us the interest-
ing story of the Mathematics Bridge and other bridges. Slowly, we punted through some famous colleges
such as St. John's College, Trinity College, King's College and You can see how old the colleges are by
the signs of the year they built.
After the amazing punting tour, we walked around the town center and bought some souvenirs there.
I bought some pins of Cambridge University because I collected pins and enjoyed decorating them on
my backpack. The colorful pins on my backpack remind me of those exciting trips in the UK. I hope I can
come back and study there in the future.
